So it appears that hell has frozen over in more then one way….

DRM is finally going the way of the Dodo in iTunes.

That’s great!

Wait.. do you have any idea how much music I’ve bought on iTunes over the last 5 years?

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 730 tracks… between albums and singles. So yeah just a bit of music. Now at $.30 a track it works out to right around $223 and change assuming that I have to pay for every track (items bought as albums will be cheaper).

And right now at this very moment I can “upgrade” 440 tracks for $107… So that’s 60% of my music that is DRM’d right there…

I’m torn… on the one side I have a music library that I’m very happy with sound wise when I listen to it on my computer… it’s on my iPod that we start to have problems.

On the other side… I could only sync with my iPod and now I can load some sort of music on my phone so I can use that part of it’s functionality. Not to mention stream it all through my xbox and do a shoutcast server of one sort or another.

On the other hand it’s a chunk of change and lets be honest I probally have other things to spend my money on…

It’s a intersting proposition I’m pretty sure i will unlock some stuff I just don’t know if I will unlock it all.

Much thought this will take…

Because there is no good radio in Colorado….

The friendly folks at Google Analytics tell me that I have a fair number of Mac using readers in one town just outside Boulder Colorado.  Now I visited these loyal readers some months ago. While I did find their state of Big Mountains, big trees, and big Elk most pleasing.  I couldn’t help but notice that their terrestrial radio sucks…

So this post is for my amigos in Colorado, and the rest of you can just consider this post the fullfillment of a Tom Hat Trick of posts today.

First up, a new video from a very old song… Utah Saints “Something so good”  The song was orginally released in ’92 and this is not the orginal video.

Now if you want the video I saw in 1992 before the internet, cable modems, and when MTV actually played videos….

Speaking of when MTV used to play videos… how about this gem from 1997…

And I don’t know where the hell this comes in at, but hey what the heck

And I know you aren’t getting any of this up there…. and you need to keep up your metal content.

So my snowbound friends… I hope you enjoy a little something different… as for the rest of you, quit slacking and get back to work.

This is necessary…. life feeds on life feeds on lie

Ok it’s 24 hours after the game and it almost doesn’t hurt to talk…. it used to be 48 hours before I got to this point… so either I didn’t yell as much (no likely) or my vocal chords are now the most developed muscle in my upper body…

“I’ll take people who need to get off their ass and start working out for a $200 please Alex”.

More on that later… it’s also not the first time I’ve talked about it nor will it be the last.

I was also contemplating on posting the spirited exchange that Eve and I had via txt message during the course of the game.  I was wanting to do this for two reasons.  First to document that Eve is a closet Cardinals fan (as most are), and two semi-admittance that Steelers fans may be just a tad dim.  Alas I decided to not upset the order of things… Rather, I’m saving that energy for other people like say a certain Giants fan whose team may come up against my #1 team or my #2 team.

So your probally wondering what these txt messages contain don’t you?  Well here’s a little peak… The mutual loathing/hatred that Eve, I, and probally a good portion of the Football watching public have towards Chris Colinsworth.  And something about a Elk Gun, motive, and oppurtuntity.

So now the question is this, the Cardinals play in Carolina next week… And assuming they win and assuming the Giants lose to the Eagles… There could be a NFC championship game in Phoenix.

Oh god… that could be very expensive… but so worth it.

Of course the Cardinals have to win first… and well remember what I said about talking shit about the other team.

Have Faith Baby, Have Faith

And Now a Word…. About My Arizona Cardinals!

This was the quote that was displayed in the stadium just before the Cardinals took the field on Saturday

If you have to play on an opponent’s field in January, you pray Arizona is the opponent. Atlanta Journal Constitioun 12/29/2008

While the Cardinals may be heartbreakers and deal chasers most of the time, when they show up and play they show up in a big way.  And not just yesterday… I’ve watched them play some really great football and some really bad football over the last couple of years.

All I have to say is this, never talk shit about your opponet… it only makes them better.

Hightower comes across the goal line

Bring on the next team!

Imperialistic house of prayer…..Conquistadores who took their share

So as the new year begins it’s spin up and the year that was 2008 lurches to it’s final moments lets take a look back and forward at some things….
Looking Back….

Well the economy isn’t totally screwed up… it’s completely fucked up, which makes one wonder how long it will take to get back to doing what economies do?

The Cardinals made the Playoffs and win the NFC West… Miracles do happen

The Light Rail Opened in Valley on time, on budget, and with no deaths.  Remember kids the Light Rail always has the right of way.

A couple of births… you know future Cardinals fans in the making (wait you will see 😀 )

And someone finally has a light at the end of the tunnel! Though it could be a oncoming light rail because he ran a redlight and didn’t see the Light Rail warning signal.

Looking Forward to 2009…

The Cardinals win their Wild Card game against the Falcons, Goto New York and win in a last second 50 yard field goal with the ball going into the win.  Sales of Neil Rackers Jerseys go through the roof… once again I’m ahead of the curve.

In a upset at the AFC title the San Diego Chargers beat the Pittsburg Steelers after Ben Rothelsburger gets distracted by his rumored new girlfriend in the stands Jessica Simpson.

The Suns will lose to the Spurs in the playoffs for the third year in a row….

The Phoenix Metro area will discover that they didn’t plan on one thing when building the new light rail Snowbirds pay the $2.50 for a all day pass and ride the train back and forth all day long because they have nothing better to do.  Commuters to downtown Phoenix never use the Light Rail again.

And I finally find happiness with a cell phone… not so much with my love life though.

Where everyone goes WTF?

No doubt you have noticed the very Vista-esque theme?

I know it’s disgusting… but there is one reader who will like it…

Honestly it looks better the the Word Press Default theme and I just got tired of screwing with it all.

On the bright side I can once again attach images into posts…. but that’s less a function of the theme and more a function of me blowing away the old install and reloading everything.

Will the owner of….

The white long sleeve “Poopin Dog Brewery” please stand up… you left your shirt in the back of my truck and Iwant to make sure it gets home….

Again will the owner of a white long sleeve “Poopin Dog Brewery” shirt please stand up.
